Fox commentator Glenn Beck has been getting a lot of media attention lately. He’s been pulling around 2 million viewers every night appealing to the populist anger over our current financial woes. I’ve watched a couple of his viral youtube clips, and generally agree with a lot of what he’s been saying lately. But for some reason, I just don’t trust the guy.

On March 3rd, he said something on Fox & Friends that really got my spider-sense tingling. Check out this clip, around the 1:55 mark:

The Pentagon announced that they will be deploying more troops on American streets over the next several years, in violation of Passe Comitatus and long standing American tradition. As of Oct 1st, 2008, the 3rd Army Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team, one of the most bloodied units in Iraq, was put under the control of NORTHCOM to be on call for emergencies. This has now been expanded to include 20,000 troops by 2011. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that what local emergency response groups, FEMA, and state national guards are for?

According to the Army Times, these troops will be “called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive (CBRNE) attack.” They are being equipped with non-lethal weapons to ‘”subdue unruly or dangerous individuals’” . WHAT, YOU THINK THIS IS A FREE COUNTRY?! DO YOU EVEN REMEMBER 9/11?!

Do you think this has anything to do with the economy circling the drain? Seems to me like the interests that control this country are scrambling to cover their asses. Trillions of dollars are being handed out without any sort of transparency, and once the worst of it finally hits Main St. and the American People realize they were sold out, a million soldiers won’t save them or their dying pyramid scheme.

Sometimes, you really have to stand in awe at the absurdity that is U.S. Foreign Policy. Over the weekend, I stumbled upon this story. In an attempt to keep Russian nuclear scientists away from those nasty terrorists, The Dept. of Energy has been subsidizing two Russian nuclear institutes that are building parts for an Iranian reactor. Ironically, the program was developed to stop the spread of nuclear technologies. As it turns out, The United States has been funding Iran’s nuclear program.

The Bush administration, as well as both presidential candidates, have taken a very aggressive stance with Iran because of their nuclear program. Even the alleged peace candidate, Barack Obama, would not rule out the use of military force against Iran. If you’re a rational human being like myself, you must be thinking “well, they screwed up, at least we caught this ridiculous blunder!”. I came across a pretty chilling video this morning…

Granted, I’m not a big Glenn Beck fan, especially after he infered Ron Paul supporters are terrorists, but he is really on to something. Over the last couple years, I have echoed the same sentiments in private conversations. I take no pleasure in predicting a controlled collapse of the US economy, that will lead to more internationalism, more banking consolidation, and eventually to a one world government & currency. Just as The Panic of 1907 (a run on the banks started by JP Morgan) was used to consolidate power and scare Congress into resurrecting a central bank, so to is the current economic crisis being used to consolidate banking power on a global scale.

We are on the cusp of events that will change the economic and political structure of the world forever. Unfortunately, it is not a “change we can believe in”, but rather further consolidation of wealth and power by the very few.

I came across a pretty startling video this morning…

I want to know who was trying to scare up votes in the House. The President? People speaking on behalf of the President? Other Legislators? Whoever it was, they should be tried as traitors. This kind of strong-arming and intimidation has no place in American politics, but let’s face the reality of the situation; it’s not going anywhere. It will come as no suprise to me when the House passes the pork-stuffed Senate bailout. The desires of the American people are no longer relevent; the fate of our economy, form of government, and nation itself rests on the whims of the banking cartel.
